BLUF. WIRE Economics rises to POTENTIAL CRISIS (↑) because digital assets now carry two Significant indicators. Binance put the impact of a 29 Oct security incident at about $6.3 billion, the largest crypto theft on record, with about $3 billion frozen; withdrawals remain suspended and Binance says it will cover all losses (Decrypt; CNBC). Bitcoin closed 29 Oct at $77,775 (Yahoo), a 4.3% fall. The macro picture softened: Q3 GDP grew 3.4% (BEA), the 10-year closed 4.98% (Treasury) and the 30-year mortgage fell to 7.24% (Freddie Mac). Resolved: ECO-01, ECO-03, ECO-07 and BTC-10 hit.

Family level = highest topic level. Roll-up per WIRE_METHOD §1a. Trend key: ↑ toward crisis, ↓ away, = no net change.

Change line. Family level ENVIRONMENT FOR CRISIS → POTENTIAL CRISIS, trend = → ↑. ECO-T5 rose one level; ECO-T4 fell one level.

Moved indicators (vs 29 Oct). B-7 ABNORMAL → SIGNIFICANT (hack over $500M at a top-10 exchange, withdrawals halted). ECO-T4 30y fixed SIGNIFICANT → ABNORMAL (7.24%, under the 7.25% line).

I. ECO-T5 DIGITAL ASSETS (BITCOIN) | POTENTIAL CRISIS

Security. Binance said a compromised engineer's laptop may have let an attacker submit unauthorized withdrawals, then said it found "additional points of breach"; it reports no evidence of a private-key leak. Deposits reopened; withdrawals stay paused for a rebuild of the withdrawal service, with resumption targeted about 45 hours from the 30 Oct update. Arkham put the haul at $6.01 billion from hot wallets on nine chains; Tether and Circle froze about 975.1M USDT and 823M USDC (Decrypt; CNBC). Price. The 29 Oct UTC close was $77,775.11 (Yahoo), from $81,267.59; CoinGecko's 00:00 UTC 30 Oct value was $77,838.81 (CoinGecko). Reuters, via Investing.com, put the low at $77,646, a six-week low (Investing.com). Drawdown from ~$126.2k is 38.4%; 30-day realized volatility (Yahoo closes) is about 29.2%. Flows and plumbing. US spot ETFs took in $17.2M on 29 Oct; the week stands at +$440.8M (Farside). USDT $0.9992, USDC $0.9996 (CoinGecko). Hashrate ~1,048 EH/s vs ~1,023 EH/s 30-day mean (mempool.space). Fear & Greed 30, from 51 (Alternative.me). Indicators. B-7 SIGNIFICANT (moved). B-5 SIGNIFICANT (Brent over $110). B-1 ABNORMAL (38.4%). B-2 (−4.3% day), B-3, B-4, B-6, B-8, B-9, B-10 ROUTINE. Roll-up: 2 Significant = POTENTIAL CRISIS (↑). Tripwires (B-7 or B-8 at Extreme) not met. Two indicators at Significant within 7 days meets the §1a Emerging Warning Concern trigger: EWC opened on exchange-security contagion. Analyst Comment. This is a theft, not an insolvency: Binance says it will cover losses and half the haul is frozen, so Extreme (an FTX-class failure) is unlikely. The watch items are whether withdrawals reopen on schedule and whether ETF flows turn to outflows; a missed reopening would test confidence in the largest venue.

II. ECO-T2 INFLATION AND ENERGY PASS-THROUGH | ENVIRONMENT FOR CRISIS

Prices. September PCE rose 0.5% m/m and 3.6% y/y; core 0.3% and 3.1%, in line with consensus (CNBC). Q3 core PCE slowed to a 2.5% annual rate (BEA). Energy. December Brent settled $114.88 (−0.38%) and WTI $102.00 on 29 Oct as reports of a US peace proposal to Iran offset supply fears (Reuters via Euronext; DTN). AAA regular is $4.205, from $4.226 yesterday (AAA); EIA's 26 Oct value is $4.269, next release 3 Nov (EIA). Indicators. Core CPI ROUTINE (carried); T5YIE ROUTINE (carried); Brent SIGNIFICANT; gasoline SIGNIFICANT (EIA, carried). Formula POTENTIAL CRISIS; override −1 to ENVIRONMENT FOR CRISIS (kept): both Significant reads come from one oil shock while core inflation is decelerating on a quarterly basis. Trend =.

III. ECO-T1 RATES, FED AND SOVEREIGN DEBT | ENVIRONMENT FOR CRISIS

Treasury's 29 Oct par curve: 2-year 4.61%, 10-year 4.98% (from 5.05%), 30-year 5.32%; the 10-year is up 2 bp on the week (Treasury). The $44 billion 7-year auction stopped at 4.894%, bid-to-cover 2.46; implied December hike odds slipped to about 78% from 85% (TreasuryBonds.com; Newsquawk). Indicators. 10y ABNORMAL; weekly move ROUTINE (+2 bp); Fed vs pricing ROUTINE; auctions ROUTINE. Formula NO CRISIS; override +1 to ENVIRONMENT FOR CRISIS (kept): a December hike is still priced as likely and the 10-year sits at 5%. Trend =.

IV. ECO-T3 LABOR AND GROWTH | NO CRISIS

Real GDP grew 3.4% annualized in Q3, from 2.2% in Q2 (BEA). Initial claims fell to 194k; the 4-week average is 196.75k; GDPNow's first Q4 read is 3.2% (Newsquawk; TreasuryBonds.com). Payrolls ABNORMAL (carried); claims, GDPNow ROUTINE. Roll-up NO CRISIS (=).

V. ECO-T4 HOUSING AND MORTGAGE | NO CRISIS

The 30-year fixed averaged 7.24% (29 Oct), from 7.32%, the lowest this month (Freddie Mac; FRED MORTGAGE30US). 30y ABNORMAL (moved). Roll-up NO CRISIS (↓). Analyst Comment. The move is one basis point under the line, so a single uptick puts the topic back at ENVIRONMENT FOR CRISIS.
